Which file formats can AnoVeil open?
Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Markdown (.md), plain text (.txt), and text pasted straight into the application. PDF is not supported — if your source is a PDF, convert it to Word first.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. AnoVeil runs for seven days from first launch with no licence key at all. On top of that it is free during the private beta, so nothing is being billed today.
What counts as a device?
One physical machine. Authorisation is bound to the device rather than to an install, so reinstalling AnoVeil or upgrading it does not consume another slot.
Can I move my subscription to a new machine?
Yes. Revoke the old device from your account portal and authorise the new one. The slot is freed immediately.
What happens if my subscription lapses?
Protected functionality stops being enabled. Your codebook, vocabulary and any unfinished review stay on your disk exactly where they were, because AnoVeil never had copies of them in the first place.
Do you charge per document or per page?
No. Documents are processed locally on your own machine, so there is no per-document cost for us to pass on.
Does AnoVeil upload my documents for billing or usage counting?
No. Your documents, the values detected in them and the codebook never leave your device. The Security page lists exactly what does travel to our services and what never does.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows only today. macOS and Linux are not supported yet.
How do I cancel?
From your account portal, at any time. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
